The Maritime Museum focuses on the rich maritime history of Mason County. Exhibits include uniforms, photographs, memorabilia, china and other artifacts from the cross lake carferries.

The Maritime museum is also the home of the Big Sable Point 3rd order classical lighthouse lens and the North breakwall 4th order lighthouse lens from Ludington. The Museum usually plays a 10 minute documentary video on cross-lake carferry service in the winter time, called "A Game All By Itself".

Running lights from the P.M. 18, a lifeboat and stateroom from the City of Midland, and a propeller form from an early steel carferry add to the maritime exhibits.
